Music Appreciation with Matthew Taylor
For the second series of our Charlton House residency Matthew Taylor returns to Tchaikovsky. Fifty years ago he was the sure fire pot boiler of the concert halls, derided by a few, loved by the many. Matthew now sets out on a voyage of rediscovery and re-appraisal of one of the great all rounders. In this ten lecture series we will explore the better and lesser known works, symphonies serenades and concertos as well as programme music, sonatas and quartets, and, yes, the ballet. Do come along and enjoy this fresh look at Tchaikovsky.
