Music Appreciation with Matthew Taylor

Travelling around various European cities this series of lectures will cover the decades from 1895 to 1905. Each lecture will have a peek at different composers in their own habitat. Look out for Mahler in Vienna, Debussy in Paris and Ravel and Saint-Saens; there should be Puccini in Lucca and Richard Strauss in Munich; Suk‘s Asrael symphony in Pargue to be followed by Georges Enescu in Bucharest. Rachmaninov will feature from St Petersburg and Scandinavia will offer Sibelius and Nielsen. We will end up in dear old blighty with Elgar. Come aboard and join us. Bang in the middle of La Belle Epoque – an exciting period for an exciting series.
