The Sounds Of Music | Woodwinds & Horn Across The Centuries

Matthew Taylor will be giving a series of 11 lectures based upon the 5 main wind instruments and their history.

Many composers have reserved their most poetic, personal and enduring works when writing for wind instruments. Mozart, Brahms, Debussy and Strauss are obvious examples.

This course will embrace some of the greatest music for winds and for horns from Bach to the present day.

There will be opportunities to hear concerti, chamber music , duos and solos.

These lectures will alternate between 2 venues; Blackheath Halls and All Saints Church.
