Winners of the Carne Trust Chamber Competition 2022 the Meridian Guitar Quartet: Bárbara Matos, Kolja Gibbs, Antoine Assaf and Nick Tait (who joined the group in December 2021), present a lunchtime recital programme of guitar quartet music.

Formed in September 2018, under the tutelage of Graham Anthony Devine, head of guitar at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, it has performed around London in concerts and masterclasses, in venues such as Southwark Cathedral, King’s Place, Wigmore Hall, St. John’s Smith Square, St Alfege’s Church, Polish Hearth Club, Old Royal Naval College Chapel, Morden College and King’s College.

The quartet has also had the pleasure of performing at the Royal Greenwich Guitar Festival 2019 as well as playing in masterclasses with Augustin Wiedemann, Xueifei Yang and Odaline de la Martinez.

They won the John Thompson String Ensemble Prize 2019/2020 and in June 2022 they were awarded the first prize in the Carne Trust Chamber Music Competition.
