Kendall’s Longitude: The Times and Voyages of K2 the Bounty Watch
WED 22 JAN 8pm | The Hearn Recital Room
Blackheath resident John Bendall’s first book recounts, with co-author Mike Dryland, the adventurous voyages of a naval timekeeper that travelled the oceans during the 18th and 19th centuries.
Kendall’s Longitude: The Times and Voyages of K2 the Bounty Watch is a marvellous, quirkily written story, that spans a great swathe of naval history, and celebrates the place in time of the second of a series of nautical timekeepers produced by Larcum Kendall. This follows Dava Sobel’s enthralling book ‘Longitude’ about Harrison’s quest to find longitude at sea.
